Our Quenas
Each quena is carefully tuned using sophisticated software and our flutemaker does not rely on traditional tuners. Quenas with a different wood mouthpiece are tuned several times, once before adding the mouthpiece, and then it is fine tuned when the new embouchure is placed in the quena.
We have sourced the best quenas for professional musicians so that you don't waste your precious time looking for the best quenas. Our quenas have met our craftmanship and acoustic requirements.
Our flute maker, Angel Sampedro, is a renowned instrument maker from Argentina who has been making bamboo and wood instruments over 20 years.
We also showcase quenas made by maestro Mauricio Vicencio who is a quena virtuoso and recording artist who specializes in making his own instruments.
Our quenas are innovative since they provide an ergonomic fit. The mouthpiece is cut at an angle to create a perfect fit you your lips and surrounding area. The bottom of the quenas are open to allow more harmonics and rich sound.
Your satisfaction is our commitment
If you decide the quena does not fit to your playing style due to its physical characteristics such as mouthpiece, finger holes, or cane thickness, we can reimburse your payment amount less a $20 restocking fee. If the quena arrives in damaged condition we will happily refund the amount or exchange the quena.
Types of professional quenas we sell
All our quenas showcase a mouthpiece or embouchure made of ebony, pine, brazilian tigerwood, verawood, lignum vitae, or other fine hard woods. The body of the quenas are made of bamboo or woods such as guayacan, palo rosa, balm, santos mahogany, ebony, guayuriva, palo santo, or other fine woods.
