Traditional Peruvian Charango Indian Madagascar Palo Santo Canadian Maple

The Peruvian charango and its regional variations—from Ayacucho, Cusco, Puno, and Arequipa—are characterized by the shape and building process of the soundbox, which has the same morphological features as a Spanish guitar. In the same way, the rest of the elements that make up the instrument’s structure and ornamental details are similar to those of a guitar.

Tarazona charangos are custom-designed, hand-made concert instruments, built with select woods which have dried out in an adequate environment for more than 5 years. These instruments are only made upon request, and their building process takes 30 to 45 days, including the varnishing and drying process. Charangos are delivered once the varnish has completely dried. Therefore, the whole building process may vary between one month and a month and a half, depending on the season of the year and the weather.

Free Shipping in the United States and Canada. The charango is hand-made in Canada and will ship from Quebec.

Please make a $300 deposit to order your custom made charango. Once it is ready to be shipped we we will bill you the remainder.

Please Note: Deposits are non-refundable because once your deposit has been paid, Federico Tarazona, will start building your custom made charango.

Shipping

Charangos are shipped in extra-safe boxes that fully protect them from shocks or collisions which could damage the products. Federico Tarazona does not make cases, so buyers will have to order these themselves. Tarazona charangos adapt perfectly to a standard violin case, which nowadays can be easily found in the musical instruments market.
